We wanted to promote some fun and cuteness for our fans and supporters so we ran a brief contest. The Winner was chosen by having the most votes for their cute pet photo. Joey surpassed all of the other competitors with his gorgeous smile! Here’s what his mom had to say about him: “Joey is a 2 year old pyrenees anatolian cross boy that loves his human family and "his" goats and kittens.... he loves to greet us with a huge smile every time we come home.... we love him so much...” - Joey’s Mom We can certainly see how much he loves his humans! Thanks to Joey’s mom for sharing his photo and thanks to all of our supporters for continuing to follow us through social media as well as attending events. We appreciate you all!
We know some of you were so excited to see this gorgeous guy find a loving home. As of this afternoon, Max has been ADOPTED!!! HOORAY!!! We love getting to share the happy tails stories with all of you because that means we’re doing what we can to save as many death row animals as we can and giving them a second chance at having a happy life! Good luck on your journey, Max! We know we’ll hear great reports from your new humans! 🐾

Meet Max! Hello, my name is Max. I am a 1.5 year old Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever mix. I am good with other dogs and kids. I am leashed trained and I have been a house pet. I can also tell you that I like to go on rides. I am looking for a loving forever family that will show me lots of love and take good care of me. I am very friendly. Yes, I am rather large, but that just means there is more of me to love. I know some of you might want to know if I am a good guard dog, I will be honest and let you know that I have not been trained to be a guard dog. That doesn't mean that I can't learn, it just means that I really like being a member of your family that gets to spend as much time as I can with you. I really hope you will consider becoming my forever family.
Meet Keno! My name is Keno. I am a 2 to 3 years old lab mix. I am crate trained and I even walk on a leash well. I was recently hit by a car, but as you can see I survived with a few lacerations to my head. Good news is I had no broken bones. Ms. Mary says I am okay with other dogs just as long as they are not dominant and I guess I better let you know that I guard my food so please don't allow any other animals around me when I am eating. I do love humans, so I would really love a chance to be a part of your family. Just keep me out of the road because I really did not enjoy being hit by a car.
Meet Fiona! My name is Fiona. I am a 4 1/2 year old boxer mix. I am house broken and crate trained. I do not like other dogs, but I love people. Ms. Mary says I have to be the only dog in the family. She said that I will not be adopted out to any family that has another dog. That is fine with me because I want all of the attention. I just want a family of my own to love and play with.
Meet Dude! Hello! My name is Dude! I am 2 1/2 years old! You know what that means? I like to play a lot! I'm a boxer mix and I'm a little bit picky about who I hang out with. Ms. Mary says I should be a prince and not have any siblings that includes little humans as well. However, I am house and crate trained. I'm a good boy.
Meet Frankie! Hi! My name is Frankie. I am a 1 year old male lab and Dalmatian mix, at least that is what Ms. Mary thinks I am. I have lots of energy and I love to play. I am learning to walk on a leash, and should have it down in no time. I do get along with other dogs, but I can be a little on the grumpy side when it comes to my food and toys. Let's face it, when you have been on the streets, it takes a while to realize that there is enough food and toys for everyone. I am working on that. I would love a forever family that would play with me and make sure that I can get plenty of exercise. I hope you will come out and take the time to meet me. I know you that you would fall in love with me and before you know it, you could not imagine your life without me.
Meet Juniper! Hello, my name is Juniper. I am about 8 months old, female lab collie mix. At least I think that is what I am. Ms. Mary rescued me from death row. I was a stray. I am very shy, but I will warm up to you after a while and you find out that I am very loving. I get along with almost all other dogs. I am learning to walk on a leash, and I know I can learn so many other things if you just take the time to work with me. I would really like a chance to have a forever home. I am looking for someone who is going to take the time to play with me and make me feel safe. I look forward to meeting you at Valley Hills Animal Rescue.
Meet Buddy! Hello, my name is Buddy. I am about 6 months old now. Ms. Mary says that I am a red heeler mix. I am house broken and crate trained. I am learning to walk on a leash right now, so I am sure I will have mastered that soon. I love to play and I am good with kids and other dogs. I even have all of my vetting done! I would make a great addition to any family. I love Ms. Mary, but I would love to have a home of my very own. I hope that you might consider making me of your family. If you would like, come on out and spend some time with me.
Meet Bubba! Hi, my name is Bubba. I am a 4-year-old Mastiff hound mix. I came to rescue a few weeks ago in pretty bad shape. Ms. Mary has been working with me to make sure I have gained weight and start to understand that there is enough food, toys and love to go around. I do get along with most dogs and I have all of my vetting done. Ms. Marry said I better let you know that I do guard my food. You would too if you were used to not having enough food. In time, with love and understanding I will get better about that. I really want a forever home of my own where I will get plenty of food, play time, and love. I hope you might consider becoming my forever family.
Meet Duley! Hello, my name is Duley. I am a 4 year old heeler/beagle mix. I have been with Ms. Mary off and on for a couple of years now. I really love Ms. Mary, I would just really like to finally find a forever home. I thought I had found the perfect home a few times. However, things just didn’t work out for me. I get along with other dogs but not cats. Ms. Mary said I better let you know that I am not so good with chickens. I just love to play with them until they stop squeaking. Good news is that I am very social and such a great boy. I am crate trained and house broken! I love being outside and playing. I have been known to climb a fence, which is why my foster mommy brought me back. I started climbing her fence and running in the road. She didn’t want me to get hurt, so here I am again. So there you have it, I do have flaws, but I am the most loving boy you will ever get to know. I just really need a chance with someone that is willing to put in the time that it takes for me to adjust. You have to understand that because I have been let down a few times, it takes me a little while to fit in with a family. I really hope that you will consider becoming my new family. Like I said, I love Ms. Mary, but it’s not like having a home of my very own.
Meet Keni! Hi! My name is Keni! I'm not exactly sure how many years old I am. Maybe 4 years? Maybe 6? They say, age is only a number, right? I much prefer to be the only furbaby. I'm even crate trained, which means I would make the perfect friend.
Meet Sassy! My name is Sassy. I'm a 1 1/2year old boxer mix. I am crate trained and am currently working on leash training. Ms. Mary says I have lots of energy so I really need a forever home that is ready for lots of activity. I also need to let you know I am bossy at dinner time. What can I say, a girl likes her food!
Meet Bella! Hello, my name is Bella. I am a 2 year old female blue Pitbull mix. Ms. Mary rescued me from death row. I have no idea how I ended up there. I am a very loving girl. Honestly I am a very loving girl to people. I love people! When it comes to other dogs, I am a little picky. That doesn't mean that I don't like other dogs, it just means that if you have a fur baby at home, it would be a good idea for the two of us to meet and spend some time together to see if we could be friends. I am kind of a big baby when it comes to my owner. I want to be with you all of the time and I will let you know this by "talking" to you. You are my entire world, why wouldn't I want to be with you? As you can see, some people might think I have a few strikes against me because I am a Pitbull mix and I need to be with my person, but I look at these as qualities that make me extremely special. I hope you will give me a chance. I really am a great girl and I would make a great addition to your family. If you give me a chance, I would not let you down.
Meet Carley! Hello, my name is Carley. I am a female shepherd mix. Ms. Mary says I am around 1 to 2 years old. I am a very sweet girl and I love everyone. I am learning manners and how to walk on a leash. I really want a family of my very own. That would make me the happiest girl in the world. All you have to do is come see me at Valley Hills Animal Rescue and spend some time with me. I know you will want to make me a member of your family after getting to know me.
Meet Julia! My name is Julia. I'm a 1 to 2 year old lab mix. I am crate trained and very easy to walk on a leash. Ms. Mary says I like other dogs but I can be a little bossy. What?! I'm a princess! I am hoping to find a home of my own. I would be happy to have a chance to meet you and your family.
Meet Suzy Q! Meet Suzy Q! Suzy Q came to Valley Hills after she had been found tied to a post outside of a gas station, in September. She’s great with her human friends but she tends to be a little unsettled by her furry friends, though Valley Hills is currently working with her to help her adapt to other animals; we have no doubt that she will soon be much more comfortable making new friends. She is also crate and leash trained.
