Changing oneself is so hard. . Taking ones advice is also pretty darn hard. . It’s a lot easier to tell others what they need to be doing. . So I’m Taking my own advice today. Kind of. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . Unscheduled rest day.. after I attempted an unsuccessful workout, and ended up taking a walk instead. . My body screams resssttttt. . Rest is just as important as training. . I need to learn that sometimes less work is more. . Recovery is good. . I just have a really hard time slowing down.. 😣😔 . . . . . .

Push press to fail 💪🏻 . Switched things up this morning, with a really long bike ride this morning to beat today’s heat.. & since I was short on time, I just knocked out a really simple arm workout. . Try it! . I basically did ~dumbbell curls . ~tricep dips . ~ Push press . I rotated through the 3 moves, doing each one to fail. . . Mind you I picked heavier weights so I never needed more than 10-15 reps. . Tricep dips I aimed for 30 minimum each time. . 30 minutes of arms until failure. . I promise they’ll feel really pumped & like jello at the same time after this one! .

Heyy I’m Tina 👋 . I strongly believe in doing health the right way! . When it comes to weightloss~ No quick fixes, diets or fads. They never last! 🙅🏼‍♀️ & often set you back further . I believe in the consistency in hard work. . Show up every day, eat clean 80-90% still enjoying life with your friends & family but without feeling lousy after. . Move & strengthen because YOU CAN. Exercise shouldn’t be a chore. It’s a privilege. Not everyone has that option 🤷🏼‍♀️ . And as hard as it feels at times, you need patience while your body changes. . Anyone else really struggling today? . This stage has been so trying. I definitely don’t feel like I have the patience required for this wild child . But Just Knowing you’re not the only mom dealing with this is comforting in a way, That you’re not alone. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . . I’m not sure who’s shed more tears so far today... me or Marcus. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . It’s like, he’s on a mission daily to test every single boundary. He sure knows all the things he shouldn’t be doing. His favourite word is currently NO, and He loves telling me afterwards that he wassss listening to me. Ha! What a guy! . Oh well, that’s . So ready for this stage to pass... . . . . .

Loving these long summer days.. although I may have been out in the sun a little too much today... 🤔 . Something about laying out in the warm sun, expanding my mind with books is so relaxing & refreshing! . After missing the majority of last summer being indoors in Toronto, I really want to soak in as much as I can every day. . . . . . . .

The number isn’t moving! I need to eat less. I need to exercise more!! . How many times have you thought like that? . It’s not happening right away so this way of eating or this exercise or this lifestyle change isn’t working. . Our new body isn’t amazon prime. It doesn’t arrive in two days 💁🏼‍♀️ . It takes time. . Sooo many times I’ve said- stop worrying about that number on the scale. . The number is the same for both of these pics. . My body composition however, is not. Clearly. . I’ve been consistent in my workouts & my nutrition 80-90% clean. . Most importantly time. . It takes time. A lot of time 😂😂 . . . Wednesday

First night of many more hill runs. . And why not stop in & play some badminton 🤷🏼‍♀️ haha . Today was packed with a lot of fun play 👌🏻😍 . . . . . . .

Push-ups. . . One of those really great body weight exercises for almost your entire body. . The type of move you have to do to get better at. . The more often you do them, the better you’ll get at them. . Want to improve? . Set a timer of 3 minutes everyday, and knock out as many as you can with good form, taking breaks as you go. . Seriously- do this daily & watch the number of reps increase & the breaks decrease. . You can modify them many ways. Go on your knees. Wider arms. Or push off an elevated surface like a counter edge or table. .. .. Try some today! . . . . . . .

I’m finding more & more one thing I struggle with is SLOWING down. . It’s like, I can’t not do something. I Always have to be busy. . Constantly. . I think partly, it’s because I’m scared to be called lazy. Or that I don’t work hard. . So that if I take one measly full out rest day, or don’t get a ton of stuff accomplished, I feel as though I am not enough. That I don’t amount to anything. . I realize it may Sound really silly when I put it out there & say it out loud. . . It’s a shame gremlin for me. It brings me to shame. But when I shed light on it, it weakens. . It’s something I’m kind of working on. So much easier said than done. . . This morning my body was just begging for a rest day of some sort. . Just a low key chest day, and I skipped my usual cardio... ahh. . Still, in my mind I’m thinking.. I gotta do this, and this, and that. But really. I need to SLOW down. . . . . .

Leg day to start the week. . I gotta say, I’m really glad to finally be able to go out & use the squat rack. . Curling up 50+lbs to do a decent squat was really taking a toll on my forearms & elbows. I’m not made for that kind of stuff. . But I really want to improve my strength & form & variety. . I do miss going to the gym for the variety of leg machines, that don’t work your upper body as well.. . Using just dumbbells for the longest time, there are limited things you can do. . Although- the basics definitely work! . You just don’t want to get too bored 🤷🏼‍♀️ . So I’m happy about my new home gym addition! . If you could have either- which would you prefer- going to a gym, or having your own home gym? . . . . . . . .
