Stay far clear from the prosperity gospel. It is NOT the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the gospel of false men satisfying their own lustful, selfish, and sinful hearts. Bless your soul brother Paul Washer. Thank you!
Our problem is not that we're too weak our problem is that we do not recognize our weakness. In recognizing our weakness, it drives us to God! "“Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”" 2 Corinthians 12:10
Sin is sin. It's not the severity of it, it's who you're sinning against. Get to know and have a relationship with the God of the Bible and not a made up fantasy of who God is. Study His attributes and we'll start to understand how God has worked and dealt with people throughout the dispensations of history. My hope is that we all start to give Him reverence for what He's due and worship Him for His worth and glory.
The point of the law was not so much of a checklist of things to do or not do but the bigger picture was to show us a mirror. A mirror reflecting back our fallen human nature. The law showed us that we can't ever follow it perfectly, that in our human nature we would only fall short every single time no matter how hard we try. The more we tried to follow the law, the more we sinned. It gave us a realization that we can't ever work our way to God's standards and that we need a Savior. *There is power in the law, but there is only power to get worse!!!! When we bring the law in, the law actually increases its sinfulness. How? 1) By laying out and defining sins that we would have never thought of. 2) when the law says something, there's something in that that becomes seductive and makes us do the very thing we shouldn't. *Jesus fulfilled the fullness of the Law that we could never do. Jesus saved us from the law and adopts us into the newness of life. Partaking in His death (dying to the bondage of the law/sin/death) and living to the newness of life in His resurrection (living for and to the glory of God).
Even when we are not, God is still Good and Faithful. We may not understand everything in the moments of tragedy or suffering but God is in control of everything. Someone once said, "if I had God's power I would change so many things in this world. But if I had God's wisdom along with His power, I would leave everything as it is." Let God's sovereignty run its course, we can't see in the future of God's plan. Something terrible that happened today can lead to something so great years into the future. All we can do is surrender, obey and trust God through all situations.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;..." Psalms 23:4 . God is there in your midst no matter what you're going through. The good, the ugly, the messy, the bad and the best times. Trust and take refuge in Him through these times. Sometimes the lessons are more vital during the journey and not in the outcome itself. He wants us to have a close relationship with Him in the hardest seasons.
God is real! Being saved is a real, constant inward transformation of the heart. The harder we try on our own, the more we're gonna fail. Surrender to God and let God do the work. Yield to Him and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit within you to do the work. Remember that we will fail a lot in life and it's okay, but it is God who will continue to get us where He wants us to be.
I encourage everyone to watch Jackie's videos on YouTube. An encounter with sexual abuse as a child contributed to the confusion over her gender identity she faced while growing up, and at age 17 decided that she was a lesbian. She lived a life of sexual promiscuity and struggled with drug and pornography addiction, until her conversion to Christianity in 2008.
Thank you Frank Turek. Dr. Frank Turek is a Christian apologist, author, and public speaker answering some of life's toughest questions. /// Christianity is a religion that requires a humble heart. A heart that screams, "I need help, I need a Savior, I need someone else (Jesus) to save my soul, I can never do it on my own." Pride on the other hand says, "I don't need anyone else to get me to heaven. I'm gonna make it on my own, I'm gonna work my way to God." Christians have an alien righteousness or a righteousness coming from an outside source. Our righteousness comes from Jesus Christ alone. In other words, His 33 years perfectly lived life here on this fallen earth is imputed on your account. Have you trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me’” (Matthew18:2–5). Meekness is required (cf. Matthew 5:5). Jesus exhorts the disciples (and us) to seek to possess a childlike modesty in addition to their faith. Those who willingly take the lowest position are the greatest in heaven’s eyes. A young child is destitute of ambition, pride, and haughtiness and is therefore a good example for us. Children are characteristically humble and teachable. They aren’t prone to pride or hypocrisy. Humility is a virtue rewarded by God; as James says, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:10).
God’s timing is perfect, just as all of God’s ways are perfect (Psalm 18:30; Galatians 4:4). God’s timing is never early, and it’s never been late. In fact, from before our birth until the moment we take our last earthly breath, our sovereign God is accomplishing His divine purposes in our lifetimes. He is in complete control of everything and everyone from everlasting to everlasting. No event in history has put so much as a wrinkle in the timing of God’s eternal plan.
Thank you God. We are under your care. You alone are sufficient for me. In times of suffering, we will only get stronger through God's grace.
O the tears of joy we have in this story. What a beautiful picture of the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. Hosea is one of my favorite books in the Bible. I encourage you to read it if you haven't yet. Have a great day everyone.
Married Christians, single Christians, or anyone in general: pornography damages spiritual, emotional and physical intimacy. Even without thinking about it, people will subconsciously begin to compare their spouse to a fantasy world that they have instilled in their mind by watching porn. It has a damaging affect to the human brain. The more people view porn the less they desire their spouse. Once sex in marriage is compared to try and replicate the fantasy world of pornography, slowly over time their desire for their spouse will decrease. 56% of divorce cases involve one party having an obsessive interest in porn websites. Pornography destroys you, how you look at others, and your relationships with the opposite sex. Flee from pornography while you are single and while you are married! There is hope and help to be set free from pornography in Jesus. Seek for help and He will give you strength.
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16 “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31
Mothers have the toughest job in the world. On this Mother's Day, take a moment to tell your mother, your grandmother, your wife, your sister, your aunty or any women in your life how incredible she is to you. Thank her for everything she does for you. Happy Mother's Day to all our amazing moms out there. Thank you Lord for women.
Jesus never promised to take away suffering or that Christians should not suffer. Faith doesn't take away our suffering. Rather... Jesus showed us the perfect example on how to handle suffering. Jesus promises that we are not alone in our suffering. Everyone goes through some form of suffering in life. The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. For you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
