Hot and cold nourish bowl for dinner tonight. Reheated leftover veggies, slaw, avocado, falafels and hummus. Here's how I make my home-made hummus, I follow the recipe from the Thermomix Everyday Cookbook with a few tweaks. 1 garlic clove, adjust to taste 400g tinned chickpeas, drained 50g freshly squeezed lemon juice (approx 1 lemon) 1 tbsp tahini 20g extra virgin olive oil 1 tbsp water or aquafaba (the liquid from the chickpeas) Large pinch sea salt 2 drops dΓ΅TERRA Lemon essential oil 2 drops dΓ΅TERRA Cumin essential oil 1 drop dΓ΅TERRA Black Pepper essential oil Place garlic into mixing bowl and chop 3 sec/speed 7. Scrape down sides of bowl. Add all remaining ingredients, and mix speed 5 for at least 1 minute. Tips and tricks: πŸ‹ I only use fresh lemon juice when lemons are in season, out of season I use 50g of Apple Cider Vinegar and add an extra 2 to 4 drops of dΓ΅TERRA Lemon essential oil. πŸ‹ For beetroot hummus add a whole, peeled fresh beetroot, cut in quarters. πŸ‹ Using aquafaba (the liquid from the chickpeas) gives a fluffier, creamier texture. πŸ‹ Mixing for longer gives a smoother hummus, I will mix for a minute, scrape the sides and mix again for another minute. πŸ‹ I add the oils by dripping them onto a spoon with the olive oil. πŸ‹ I only use dΓ΅TERRA Food Grade essential oils in my cooking Click on the link in my bio to shop online in your pj's. What did you have for dinner tonight?

"You hate yourself for being mean. Your heart hurts because you love these kids so much, and you never want to hurt their feelings. But the yelling comes again, and again, and again." Elizabeth Broadbent πŸ˜₯ this is me. Over and over again. It's taken me a long time to realise that I am not a psycho mother, that I am a mother who has anxiety. I'm still working out what my triggers are, but mostly I know that when I loose the plot it's not about the chia seeds all over the bench, it's not about the mess or the noise or any of the little things, it's about my state of mind. This week having extra external stress has made me realise that my sympathetic nervous system (which isn't the least bit sympathetic at all πŸ˜₯) is in overdrive. This is the time that I need more little moments of self care throughout the day, they will eventually add up enough to shift over to the rest and reset Parasympathetic mode. But for now I oil up, do my yoga, take deep breaths, apologise to my kids and hold them tight.

Have I told you about my new love Patchouli? I am really drawn to Patchouli and all of the blends that have Patchouli in them. Patchouli is in Console, Whisper, In Tune and the new Yoga oil Anchor. I've been wearing Anchor, Console or Whisper as my pure-fume, dabbed on my neck and over my heart. I've been adding Patchouli to my diffuser blends, with Balance during the day and Lavender Peace at bedtime. Emotionally Patchouli is the Oil of Physicality this supports individuals in becoming fully present in their physical body. It balances those who feel devitalised and who seek to escape the body through spiritual pursuits or other forms of distraction. Patchouli tempers the obsessive personality by bringing them down to reality and teaching them moderation. This oil is grounding and stabilising. Patchouli is a grounding herbal oil used primarily aromatically to balance the emotions, especially after a long day of work. It is also used topically to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, and skin imperfections and promote a smooth, glowing complexion. It is a perfect addition to perfume and diffusion blends and is used to freshen the air and laundry. Patchouli is so much more than a hippies deodorant! Have you smelt dΓ΅TERRA Patchouli? It's so different to that 70's Patchouli perfume!

Are you a lonely Mum? I was. I was the round peg in the square hole, seriously considering changing something fundamentally me, just to fit in. I wanted to be seen, heard and valued. I craved connections. One of the biggest reasons that I started my business was for the connections. "Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard and valued - when they can give and receive without judgement." BrenΓ© Brown I started hosting monthly social gatherings, calling them Encouragement Circles, for women to create connections. Not just for me, but for them. I've done many a happy dance after seeing two people I have introduced exchange phone numbers, when they tell me they are meeting each other for coffee, that they have made a new friend. And I get to make new friends too. That is magic. I also have weekly catch ups at BOM, which I started because it involves my favourite things, chatting about essential oils, catching up for coffee and creating new connections. Monthly Intentionally Organised round table's are for work from home women who are looking for connections and a place to share and set business goals. If you are a lonely mum, please come along to one of my gatherings or coffee catch ups. Or message me and we can meet for coffee any time. Together we can create new connections. This month's Encouragement Circle is on Thursday evening, I am collecting donations for @sharethedignityaustralia and all ticket proceeds will be donated to this great cause. Click the event ticket link in my bio for more details.

Shh don't tell the girls, I'm totally sitting in my car enjoying the Peace instead of watching gymnastics. This is the first moment I've had alone all day and I just couldn't bring myself to go and sit in the noisy, cold, smelly hall to watch them line up for the better part of an hour. I swear they get maybe 15 minutes of gymnastics and the rest is lining up...or it just feels that way to the bored observer. At home dinner is prepped, lunches are almost done and I'm so glad I made the effort to do that before we left home. I feel like I've finally caught my breath after a full day today. Have you taken a few minutes to enjoy the peace and take a few deep breaths today? Could you do with more Peace in your life? I can hook you up with that...well with the oil anyway, can't guarantee peace at home but it sure will help!

Baking is one of my favourite stress relievers, along with oils, and yoga, especially when I create a new recipe. These Fig & Wild Orange Muesli Bars are so delicious and super easy to make. I use @woolworths_au Macro Organic shredded coconut and dried figs as they have no preservatives or other nasty additives. Fig & Wild Orange Vegan Muesli Bars 1/3 cup flax meal mixed with 3/4 cup water - flax egg 2 cups rolled oats - separated into 2 x 1 cup 1 cup shredded coconut 6 dried figs 2 tablespoons coconut oil 2 tablespoons maple syrup 6 drop Wild Orange essential oil 1/4 teaspoon bicarb 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon or a toothpick swirl of Cinnamon essential oil Preheat oven to 160Β° Line a rectangular brownie pan with baking paper. Mix flax meal with water and set aside while measuring all other ingredients. Blend all ingredients, except for 1 cup oats, in the blender or thermomix for 15 - 20 seconds, add the second cup of oats and stir gently to combine. Press into lined brownie pan, use the thermomix MC or a spoon to firmly press the mixture to approximately thumb thickness. Bake for 18 minutes until golden, cool on a wire rack, then cut into 12 bars. Can be frozen for school lunches. I only use dΓ΅TERRA Food Grade essential oils in my baking. I've had a day wrapped up in anxious feelings. I've been using my oils, Balance and Patchouli in the diffuser to ground, calm and get me out of my head and into my body. Copaiba under my tongue. Instead of my usual scroll to escape I have been "anxiety" cleaning and baking. Using that strange adrenalin to move my body, to clean, to bake. I've worn myself out physically so that I will sleep tonight. I baked so I would snack and not skip meals. I cleaned so I would feel calm and organised. I called a friend so I could talk about how I am feeling. I played a game with the girls to distract me from my tboughts. I've realised that anxiety shows itself as frustration and anger if I'm not aware of what I'm feeling and not supporting myself properly to get through the moment. And it is just a moment and tomorrow will be a new day with new feelings.

Motivate in my bedroom diffuser! That's something different! I'm tackling my wardrobe today, time to let go of the clothes and shoes that no longer fit me. It is okay for me to let go of these things, even if they were my favourite. It is okay for me to let go of these things, even if I only wore it once. It is okay for me to let go of these things, even if they are brand new with tags still on. I might need to put some Console over my heart and Forgive across my shoulders to help let go. When was the last time you cleaned out your wardrobe? Do you hang on to things that no longer fit?

Yesterday I went out for an hour without my phone. I reached for it so many times I lost count. Let's Google that. I'll just call Tommi to ask him this. Let's take a photo of that. I'll just message Anaya this. Let's look up that. Not to mention the automatic urge to scroll Facebook in an idle moment. This was just a trip to the library, post office and grocery shop with Kisha and Eva. It made me realise how addicted I am to my phone. I have some good boundaries in place. I stick to my phone curfew, not bringing my phone in my bedroom in the evening, not having my phone out when I am out with other people, not checking messages if I don't have time to answer. But I need to work on disconnecting a little more. Do you take time to disconnect? Are you addicted like me?

Last night I went to bed super early, like 6:30pm early. I put on my noise cancelling headphones, meditation music and switched off. I left messages unanswered, emails unread and notifications not checked. I was not just tired but drained. I haven't had time alone to recharge this week and I'm feeling the strain of it. With a family of 5 it is hard to find time alone, especially when Tommi is home. Unfortunately my body thought midnight would be a great time to be alone and woke me up. Took me till 2am before I realised that I hadn't put the diffuser on before going to bed. Lavender Peace helped me get back to sleep, but this morning I'm not feeling much better. So I'm taking today and tomorrow off. I've still got commitments that will have me out of the house, but when I am home I am switching off and doing things that recharge me: Baking Writing Reading Colouring Napping Pottering Walking Yoga-ing Okay so yoga-ing isn't a word but all the rest were "ing" words and it just fit πŸ˜‰ And I'm committing to doing at least one of the above each day to keep my battery chargedπŸ”‹ What are your favourite ways to recharge?

I start my day with a drop of Balance on my wrist. Before I get out of bed I put Balance on, drink 500mls of water, take by reading a book to expand my thinking, write down - 3 things I am grateful for, my favourite part of the day and something I achieved yesterday. Rituals like this set me up for a day that starts with me feeling calm, grounded and grateful. I've got many little oily rituals but this one has the biggest impact on my mental health. Balance was the first dΓ΅TERRA essential oil that I was introduced to, it was quite a "miracle moment" for me, you can read more about that over in my online journal (link in my bio). Do you have rituals in your morning that are just for you? Do you take the time to savour that first sip of coffee? β˜• Or do you snooze and rush through the morning and then through the day?
