Hang up my travel hat for the next few months as the little one is on his/her way. I will undoubtedly miss all the excitement of exploring a new destination, the local delectables, the road trips and the friendly strangers who we would meet along the way. But our next adventure ahead would bring a new sense of pride, treasure, responsibility and certainly full of excitements. Super psyched! . . .

One last jump before saying Goodbye to Cape Town and heading back home. It has been an amazing and special trip for both of us. So much wildlife and animal sightings. Super lucky with the weather everywhere we went. A bit too much good wine and delicious food for the 2 and a half of us. And definitely oyster overdose for @franktank 🤨 Thanks for all the memories and Hope to see you again soon South Africa! . . .

Whale watching is a lot like going for a blind date. You go in hoping for the best (a whale or two would suddenly bob up out of no where), but prepared for the worst (sitting duck in the freezing cold and light rain for hours) 😝 PS. It was totally though 🐳 . . .

Arrived at Hermanus just in time for the whale watching season, but also for the 10 day FynArts festival where awesome installations by local artists are displayed on the Hermanus Cliff Path. STOP! by Mark Chapman illustrates the humans ambition to control everything. Facing the ocean, one can’t help but feeling quite the opposite. All we could hope for is a little sunshine, blue sky and of course, the amazement of witnessing the appearance of Southern Right Whales during their winter migration . . .

Oh South Africa, you’ve got it all! Driving pass these endless canola fields in full bloom after the August rains, on our way from the Wineland to Hermanus for whale watching. Looking forward to more amazing experiences ahead . . .

Good morning Cape Town! . . The cobbled streets of Bo-Kaap were originally built for rentals to the Cape Malays during the late 1700s. I learnt that during this slavery time, all houses had to be painted white. When this rule was eventually lifted and slaves were allowed to own their own property, the houses were painted in bright colors by their proud owners as an expression of their freedom. .

Nothing goes to waste in the wilderness. One’s life sacrifice is another’s survival.
