Yesterday's ceremony at one of LA's most iconic venues...we went with lush garden style blooms and romantic trailing greenery - lace cap hydrangea, hybrid delphinium, pepperberry, vibernum berry, majolika spray roses, hellebore, white snowberry branches and phlox...loved using all smaller, more delicate blooms on the gazebo vs large headed roses and hydrangea etc (gave it so much more dimension and texture!)...and the drapery that @sterling_social brought in just gave the whole thing a soft, dreamy feel!

Urban Garden during today's wedding prep...btw this is ONE stem of a new spray rose being carried by @mayeshoc...can't get enough of it! It's the prettiest ☁️☁️☁️ it's also not readily available yet so if you want it, you better hustle for it LOL 😜

Gearing up for a busy wedding week and wishing I could turn the clock back 2.5 weeks ago when we were staring out at God's insane creation...hadn't been to The Grand Canyon since I was a little girl and I honestly forgot how FRIGGIN HUGE it is...seriously mind blowing! We didn't have a ton of time so we just went to the visitors center and took a look around from that vantage point...plus I had to crack a cold one from @unionwinecompany cause what better way to battle the desert heat (and crowds of pushy tourists) than an ice cold rosé?!

We woke up like this...honestly experiencing sunrise over Monument Valley was one of the most powerful and memorable moments of our trip...we stayed at The View Hotel where every room has a balcony with views of the buttes and mesas...watching the colors change in the stillness and quiet was so peaceful, you can't help but think back to what this land was like hundreds of years ago...it's literally out in the middle of nowhere and while it's nothing fancy, I highly recommend a night in this special place just for the views alone - it's majestic!

Sunset at Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona...this place was quite stunning and only about 10-15 from antelope canyon (we did a 3:45 tour of antelope, squeezed in dinner at a BBQ joint in Page and then headed to horseshoe bend for sunset)...there was plenty of parking but major note: when you see the tourists walking up and over a hill in the distance, horseshoe bend is NOT just over that hill 😂 it was quite a long walk to the bottom where the views were and it's a sandy trail...so our decision to wear flip flops was not the wisest LOL...it's only 1.5 miles round trip but the heat (even at sunset) always takes it out of you so again, bring lots of water and get ready for a butt workout going back up that hill afterward!

Dirty, sweaty little misfits 😍😍 honestly these kids all did pretty dang amazing on our road trip last week...sure they had a few meltdowns and fights, but overall they were total troopers...my hope is that they take away memories of adventure, togetherness and the beauty of this world we live in...isn't that what traveling is all about?

Antelope Canyon...this place is truly something to behold 😍 the colors and textures are UNREAL...it really is just as beautiful as the photos...we did the Lower Canyon (vs. Upper) because it's known for the natural light/colors and is stunning no matter what time of day you go...Upper is know for the direct beams of light coming down from above (only seen best at certain times of day) and the falling sand...It's a must see if you're a professional photographer but Lower Antelope is perfect for a family...you climb down into the canyon (using a ladders/steep staircase) and travel through more narrow walkways so it feels more like an adventure for the kiddos...plus the traffic only goes one direction in Lower so it feels a bit more private and you don't constantly have a bunch of other tourists coming back the opposite direction as you...we booked through Dixie Ellis tours (it's on a Navajo reservation so you MUST have a guide to take you through) and booking ahead of time is def recommended if you want a certain tour time...the tour lasts about an hour and the guides will take photos for you which is so nice! Oh and just a heads up - there is a 10-15 minute walk at the beginning in direct sun - make sure to wear sunscreen/hats and bring water! Once you're in the canyon, it's shaded but still warm so stay hydrated and bring some instant cold packs to crack and cool the body down if you need it 👊🏻

My boys 😍...hiking the Canyon Overlook Trail in Zion...this path was deemed "easy" in terms of hiking standards but when it's 100 degrees in mid morning with direct sunlight, that 1 mile trek can seem like an eternity, especially with 5 kids in tow 😱 but at least it's a slow incline and there are a few shady spots to take a rest along the way...there is also a bridge with railings that the kids thought was pretty cool :) most of the trail is open, so keeping an eye on littles or holding their hands is a must so that no one gets too close to an edge...if you have a little one younger than 3, you prob want to use a hiking backpack...bring LOTS of water (we ran out 😬), wear hats and sunscreen and pack a few pieces of candy (nothing that melts) to bribe your kids to get to the next shady patch of the trail 😂 that view from the top is WORTH IT guys - all of God's glory right before your eyes! (FYI there is a small parking lot east of the tunnel on Highway 9 where the trailhead is but it fills fast so you will probably have to park up the road a ways like we did and walk back down)

More from our hike through The Narrows in Zion National Park...if you have a kid under 3, I definitely recommend bringing a backpack carrier to help them along the way during tricky parts or when they get tired...also tennis shoes are a must, as well as lots of water, some snacks, a couple hiking sticks and if you're cool like me, a lanyard necklace to hold your phone around your neck 😂 (hey not only does it keep your phone super accessible so you can take photos easily, it also allows you to be hands free the rest of the hike and it made me feel secure that I wasn't gonna drop my phone in the water 🙌🏻)...there are certain parts you def want to hold your kids hands to help them across deeper or faster moving water so be prepared for that...and just a last heads up...it took about 15 minutes to wait for and take the town shuttle up to the park entrance, you pay the park fee and walk to the park shuttle stop (we came later in the day so didn't have to wait long but if you arrive during morning/peak hours it can take up to 40 minutes to wait for the park shuttle)...then you ride in the park shuttle (no AC) for about 40 minutes to the last shuttle stop where the River Walk trailhead is...the hike is short and mostly flat along a dirt path...it took us about 30-35 minutes to reach the start of the Narrows...from there you hike in and out of water up the river for as long (or as short) as you like! Overall, prepare to spend 5-6 hours if you want to do the Narrows due to all the shuttles etc...leave some time to get back to your hotel in the late afternoon or early evening for a dip in the hotel pool (and a can of @unionwinecompany champs for the parents 🍾)...it's the best reward for a long day!

Me and my babies hiking The Narrows...if you have never done this hike, it's an absolute MUST! We did it 2 years ago when the kids were almost 3 and 5 years old (we carried Avi backpack style at least half the time) but this year was so fun to watch both of them on their own! It's one of those hikes where you just feel like you're on such an adventure and constantly in awe of God's creation...highly recommend!
