Christina is a damn hard worker, someone who is hungry for knowledge, and a killer coach. ⠀ While I have your attention- I would like the internet here (that’s you, reading this...) to wish Christina good luck. In a little over a week, she’ll be competing in Jiu Jitsu at the IBJJF Las Vegas Open. ⠀ It’s been a pleasure to share what I know about the human body with you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your journey, Christina. ⠀ @coach_christinamarie ・・・ Mobility Training _ How many of us have 💩 range of motion in our joints, pain when moving joints through certain ranges of motion, etc? I know I do/did 🙋🏽‍♀️ _ I was lucky enough to meet @hunterfitness at another seminar I was participating in and connected with him afterward about attending one of his Kinstretch classes in Long Beach. If you’re in the area, you NEED to go check one out. _ Anyway, after the kinstretch class I had mentioned a hip pain I’ve been feeling for the last....6 months? That I hadn’t found an answer to solving yet. Long story short, Hunter said “well maybe you need a different set of eyes to look at you”. I took him up on it, he did a complete assessment of all my joints and their current active and passive ranges of motion, and I have since been doing homework assigned by him to work to improve the areas that needed it most. _ Something I’ve loved about working with him is he has always reminded me “Human first. Athlete second.” As a human, it’s important we move well and have healthy joints and joint capsules so as to mitigate injury risk later down the line. As a jiu jitsu practitioner, it’s ESPECIALLY important that I have normal human ranges of motion, control of those ranges, strength in those end ranges, AND MORE. We get put into the strangest positions both voluntarily and involuntarily. _ All of this to say, I’ve found a passion for this and am grateful to have found such an amazing coach as @hunterfitness Today we worked on hips, and I’m happy to report my hips have never felt better. _ Take note: This work isn’t easy, but it IS worth it. _ _

There’s just an incredible amount of beauty to share from this weekend backpacking in the Sierra. ⠀ But more beautiful and more important than all- I think I finally figured it out. ⠀ I can be a model for my very own line of metrosexual fake lumberjack line of clothing. ⠀ The future is so clear now. ⠀

Next round of bringing @benbrunotraining through some mobility training. ⠀ Make sure your sound is on- because I’m still trying to figure out if this was one of our successful sets or if it would make a better outtake reel. 😂 ⠀ Appreciate your effort Ben. Was a pleasure to finally meet AND get to train with/alongside @jackhanrahanfitness last night in LA. ・・・ Looking forward to the next chance we can get together to film some videos brother. ・・・ @jackhanrahanfitness ・・・ Finally got a chance to work in person with a coach I have tremendous respect for - the master of mobility @hunterfitness ______ Not only is Hunter an exceptional coach (as clearly demonstrated here) but he’s extremely passionate about helping people to move and function better. And he’s damn good at it too. It was an absolute pleasure to link up and learn 🙏 _____ Check out the two clips to see what we got up to. 🔹Clip 1: Tall kneeling Shoulder CARs. This is one of my favorite mobility exercises that I use with clients, but it was awesome to be coached through it by Hunter. Certainly dials up the intensity! 🔹Clip 2: Some advances bodyweight eccentric work in the 90/90 position. These SUCKED! As I said in the video “I would rather squat 200kg” (even though I can’t squat 200kg 😂). ______ If you’re in LA or passing through - I highly recommend getting in touch! When I got an email from @garyvee and his team talking about custom shoes- I figured it was a lost cause. ⠀ Me? The barefoot-in-every-post guy? ⠀ Well- reality check. Society ain’t completely cool with that yet. ⠀ Catch me in an airport? Shoes. Grocery line? Shoes. After party in LA at 4am? Shoes. (Probably.) ⠀ How could I turn the opportunity? One day I hope to have my own pair of Custom K-Swiss with my signature stitched into it and logo on the bottom to send to someone that admires my work. ⠀ Thank you Gary. I haven’t cared about getting stronger in a long time. Been happy to maintain a base level of strength for a few years now. ⠀ Seeing my fiancé @dianasullivanpham on a platform next to me, though, with her weights increasing week after week has been pretty fun to watch. ⠀ is coaching her through some powerlifting prep and she’s the strongest she’s ever been currently. ⠀ I imagined writing “I’ll be embarrassed the day that Diana and I are lifting the same numbers” but how non-supportive would that be? ⠀ Fuck that. I can push my ego aside. I want Diana to hit all of her goals. And if she wants to get strong- I’m in. ⠀ Even if my goals have changed- I support her. And if that means we deadlift together because Serrano gets her there- I would be nothing but proud of the two of them for working that long together towards that goal. ⠀ It’s not easy- but I’ve never seen Diana be this consistent with her lifts. ⠀ Proud of you babe. ⠀ Also got a quick video of Diana experiencing her first ammonia cap- which wasn’t expected or warned about 😂 ⠀ She handled it well. Keep it up. 💪🏼💪🏼 ⠀
