In the begining... . My Co-advocate, brother and frontier in the civil society industry Mayowa Adeniran tagged me on this reminder yesterday. . Grateful for the grace to impact and touch lives through our Projects at Rubies Ink Initiative... Since 2010 . We pioneer projects that will stand the test of time. When you invent something and wear your confidence like a beautiful dress, you don't need to blow your trumpet , the riple effect of your project(s) will speak for itself . . We keep moving
Love you Darling 😍 #repost @womenofrubies We asked you all to tell us what made you popular in secondary school, we had alot of intresting and mind blowing answers BUT @missvoke.s response stood out, In her words " The only person that used wheelchair for mobility", it's not just about the content of the answer but the boldness of speaking her truth. . We reached out to her to know more about this beautiful WoRrior and here are excerpt from our conversation: . "I really want to be a motivational speaker, a TV host or have my own show where I can discuss a lot of things affecting women with disability in Nigeria that's about my dream . But apart from that I studied business administration at novena university graduated with a second class upper . I've been doing small online business like selling wristwatches so I can at least see money to solve my immediate needs and be a little bit independent" ******************* We are using this medium in helping her seek employment, we see ABILITY all round and it will gladden our heart if she could gain employment or be empowered with tools and skills. Please if you have an opening that suits her experience do reach out . . She didn't ask for us to do this but we thought we should, at the end of the day we are all about women supporting women . We Celebrate you @missvoke. ❤
Yep... too much fakeness in the world, it's almost hard to find these kind of people hmm
PUBLIC DISCLAIMER! I have tried to reason with this young man since this was brought to my attention as I love seeing men stand up for women and sincerely Rapists are the enemy BUT I won't sit by and watch anyone use the sweat of so many people champion his cause, especially a project that is trademarked officially which I mentioned to him. . Walk Against Rape is trademarked officially in the Nigerian context even if it's a Global cause. . Activism has grown past you just waking up to do something out of passion, people protect their vision legally now to avoid this kind of drama. You ask questions to see if what you are trying to do is in existence. . While anyone can stage a demonstration against rape, it's illegal for you to use a trademarked project and it's name to champion yours. . Rubies Ink Initiative for women and children hereby disassociate itself from this project and we are using this medium to inform the public we are not part of this and If Mr. Ataba refuses to change the name of his project and stop the publicity materials presently circulating online as we've asked before 29th we will take this up legally. . We won't engage him in any social media drama when we know our way to the court room. . As an Organisation we love to support people and their causes , we have partnered with other organisations such as "Stand to end rape" , "Mediacon", "Acts Generation" and "Project Alert" in the past as we believe in the power of unity and harmony in driving the message of zero tolerance on violence against persons home faster.

Few months ago I lost a friend, she committed suicide because she couldn't go on with life. One of the most painful things I had to deal with this year, it broke me as I couldnt understand why she did it though I knew most of her ordeals. . She is gone, six feet under ground because she felt her problems were permanent, perhaps her breakthrough was just few weeks before she passed but the negative voice inside her head made her feel death is the easy way out... . I'm dropping this here to encourage anyone having a hard time right now PLEASE focus on the bright side, perhaps you cried to bed and you've lost all hope, I want to tell you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. . This situation that seems like a mountain is just temporary, see there is NOTHING God can't do, Absolutley NOTHING. . Brace yourself up and say positive things to the universe, start dancing because God is about to blow your mind. . You are not alone.... Be happy 💜
PUBLIC NOTICE!!!! This isn't a @walkagainstrape Initiative. . I'm sad we keep doing this to ourselves in Nigeria You not only use the name of our initiative to champion your cause, you also used the pay off line . We hope you know @walkagainstrape is TRADE MARKED in the Nigerian context even if it's a Global cause, to avoid things like this. . Do the needful and change the name or this isn't going to end here @ocinigeria. . At @rubiesink we are always happy to contribute our quota to Nation building and join forces with other organisations to create awareness BUT we never take what's not ours. . I have let many of these things slide BUT not again, enough is enough.
This is for anyone who needs this re-assurance right about now.. . Culled from Tasha Cobbs hit single "I'm getting Ready", I pray the words of this song manifest in our lives.. . Kick defeat out the door and get ready for an OVERFLOW.... . God is about to blow your mind...
Regrann from @womenofrubies - Oprah Winfrey is no doubt the undisputable Queen of Media. She went from a 19-year-old news anchor for a Tennessee TV station to a billionaire with her own television channel, even though her former boss once told her that she was too emotional and ‘unfit’ for TV! However, Oprah widely known as the “Queen of Media” encountered a number of hardships in the process of cultivating her media empire. Amidst criticism over the Oprah Winfrey Network’s low television ratings following its 2011 debut, Oprah Winfrey told People magazine she had reached her “breaking point.” But Winfrey overhauled the company, took on the CEO role, and went on to help make her network a fixture on cable television. Through it all, she learned some valuable lessons on how to overcome adversity. Check out her quotes below. On the inevitability of failure: It doesn’t matter how far you might rise. At some point, you are bound to stumble. If you’re constantly pushing yourself higher and higher, the law of averages predicts that you will at some point fall. And when you do, I want you to remember this: There is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction.–Harvard Gazette On failing more than once: “Do the one thing you think you cannot do. Fail at it. Try again. Do better the second time. The only people who never tumble are those who never mount the high wire.”—Forbes Continue reading on www.womenofrubies.com.
