I love my post baby body more than my pre-baby body! 😃 . I’m 6 months postpartum & it’s been 4.5 months since I started following my FIT Program. . Not only do I love and respect my body for growing my baby Mia but I love how it looks. I’ve never felt more confident in myself. It’s a great feeling! . As I’ve spoken about before I’ve had a few set backs along my postpartum journey so far. I got sick a couple of times, badly rolled my ankle & broke my toe but these things happen - that’s just life. I’m really proud of myself and the progress I’m making. I’ve worked really hard during my workouts and I’ve stuck to eating healthy meals while still having treats every week. I feel like I’m pretty close to my pre-baby body apart from having less muscle - which I’m working on hehe! 💪🏼😁 . The biggest thing I notice apart from having more energy and feeling happier is being able to run up and down the stairs again haha! - Yep it really is the little things! 😝 . . #emilyskye #6monthspostpartum
I played dress ups tonight! 😝I bought this dress online a few months ago and when I first tried it on I didn’t fit in it properly and I definitely didn’t feel comfortable or confident in it. Tonight I put it on for date night with Dec and at first I hesitated and thought I couldn’t wear it. I don’t know why, I guess I’m just used to wearing daggy clothes and fitness gear a lot lately. #mumlife 😝 I was about to take off the dress & and put one of my go-to “safe” outfits on like my jeans and a T-shirt but Dec stopped me and said “wear it Em, you’ve worked hard and look amazing in it!” So I thought why not and wore it! 😃 . I’ve been really good with sticking to the meals in my FIT Program and doing the workouts when I can. It’s been challenging with all the travel and getting sick but I do my best and always put 100% into my workouts and it’s paying off! I’m so proud of myself! 😃 . If you’ve been working on yourself then make sure you’re proud of your progress and the hard work you’ve put in - even if you’re nowhere near where you want to be yet. And if there’s an outfit you like then don’t hesitate to wear it and wear it with confidence! 👊🏼😉 . .
Happy Monday/Tuesday everyone! I’ve been quiet on here because I’ve been really sick with a tummy bug but I’m on the mend now and I’m so excited to get back into my FIT Program. Being bed ridden has really made me appreciate my health (when I am healthy haha!) 😂 . I had to do a photoshoot today and while it was the last thing I felt like doing it got me out of bed and into the afternoon sun with @BabyMiaElise and it was just what I needed. ☀️👶🏼 . 🍯🎈Who else loves Winnie the Pooh? 😝 Uncle Sam gave Mia and me these cute matching Pooh PJs!😍 They’re perfect for snuggling on a cold winter’s night... ok it’s not that cold here but it’s always the perfect season for snuggling! 😃🙌🏼 . No matter how busy or stressful life gets I always feel so calm and happy when Mia is in my arms. I couldn’t imagine my life without her now. I’m really trying to soak up our time together while she’s young because she’s changing and growing so quickly. 😭 Each stage is so special and exciting but it makes me a little sad knowing she’ll never again be as little as she is right now. Can I relax my belly now? 😂 It’s tough work holding this belly tight, especially when it’s full of food! 😝 . I got all done up and went out to dinner with Dec last night. I took these pics but fell asleep before I got to post them so here they are now! Haha! 🙈 #mumlife #oldfart . We try to make an effort to go out to dinner and spend quality time together without any phones or other distractions (besides our beautiful daughter Mia of course 😃). It’s easy to get so caught up in living busy lives that we don’t get time to do things like this together so we make sure we do every now and then. It won’t be long before we’ll have to get a babysitter for Mia though because she’ll be wanting to run around the restaurant! 😂 I’ll put that on my list of things to do along with hiring a house cleaner, clothes washer, chef, personal assistant and masseuse - bahahahaha wouldn’t that be nice! 😝 In all seriousness though I am considering getting a cleaner in every now and then to help out - a lot of you made that suggestion on my previous post about being overwhelmed (thank you 🙏🏼☺️). I’m trying to stay focused on my priorities and even though the housework isn’t a top priority it feels like my brain is cluttered when it’s not done so a cleaner might be the answer. 😊 I like to think I can do it all but I’m not superwoman and the sooner I accept this the sooner I can rectify the problem and make life a WHOLE lot easier for myself. . I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed lately so I forced myself to spend a few mins outside in the sun with Mia.☀️ . We’ve been back from traveling for week now and I still haven’t finished unpacking. The house is an absolute mess which is doing my head in! Each day I’m trying to chip away at it but since Mia doesn’t like to sleep during the day and is being really clingy lately I can’t get much done. 😩 I was rushing around the house tonight cleaning and getting ready to film workouts tomorrow while Mia was sleeping and kicked my little toe - I’m pretty sure it’s broken! It’s the same foot I severely sprained a few months ago (which still hasn’t healed). So typical of me to do that. 🙈😩 - Hey, it could always be worse though right! . Juggling a baby, my business, housework & exercise is tough for me and sometimes I think I’m not cut out for it and wonder how single parents do it if I’m struggling like this.. then I feel guilty for feeling this way! I am my own worst enemy. 🙈 . I just need to prioritise and cut myself some slack and stop putting so much pressure on myself to do EVERYTHING. Housework really isn’t important and can wait. Working out is important to me but missing it a few times is not worth beating myself up over. So my plan is to just do the best I can and stop being so hard on myself... we’ll see. It’s easier said than done! 😂 I absolutely love being a mother and wouldn’t change it for the world but having a couple of extra hands and some more hours in the day would be nice wouldn’t you agree? Haha! 😝 . Sending love to anyone out there who’s feeling overwhelmed with life at the moment. It might feel like the world is on your shoulders right now but things will get better. 5 months postpartum progress! 💪🏼 . It was hard to notice changes until I looked back to where I started. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself because I have worked really hard but I’ve been really balanced too. I’m not strict, still enjoy life (and treats) and I don’t spend much time away from Mia. 😃🙌🏼 The hardest part was the start when I first got the all clear to begin exercising at 6 weeks PP. I felt so slow & sluggish but I worked on it by doing my FIT Program about 5 times a week at midnight or so (after Mia finally went to sleep). I’m becoming fitter and stronger every day but I still have to be really conscious of holding my core tight when standing and walking around. It just wants to come “out” all the time. 🙊😝 It was pretty big when I was full term so it’s no wonder it takes time to return back to normal. I just have to keep working on training my muscles to hold everything tight, with good posture and get my core strong again. 👍🏼😉 - I’m getting there one day at a time! . Question for all the mums out there: How long did it take for your tummy to stop wanting to push/hang out? I know everyone is different but I’m just curious. 🤔😃 . .
#5MonthsPostpartum 💪🏼 Flexed & relaxed . “Slow and steady wins the race” - I’m getting fitter & stronger & I’m feeling great! 😃👊🏼 . Throughout my life I’ve had many people tell me I can’t do something or I’m “no good” and I’m sure many of you have as well! People will always doubt and there will always be negativity thrown at you from others unfortunately. The thing is, the worst kind of negative (sh*t talk) comes from your own head. I believe these thoughts truly have the power to hold you back. Other people criticising aren’t pleasant but they can’t physically stop you from doing anything unless you ALLOW them to. Take back your power and take charge of your life and what you choose to do with it. Don’t ever doubt yourself or allow other people’s doubts and negativity affect you. You can do anything if you want it bad enough and commit yourself to it. . Try not to worry about others doubting & criticising you but DO NOT EVER doubt and criticise yourself. Show yourself love & kindness and be your biggest supporter! - I don’t believe criticising and self loathing is the way to make positive changes, they must be done through self love. It’s hard to do I know, but it’s important to do I believe. 💗 Know your worth and put in the work and go smash those dreams and goals of yours! 👊🏼😘 . .
#5MonthsPostpartum 🤱🏼💪🏼 . ☀️ We’re back in Australia & it was such a beautiful sunny day today! 😃🙌🏼 It’s great to be home! - I’m SO motivated to get back into being consistent with my workouts and healthy meals from my FIT Program! I did a workout tonight but jet lag got the better of me and I ended up cutting it short. I practiced what I preach and listened to my body - I’ll give it another go tomorrow! 😃👊🏼 I can’t believe Mia is 5 months old now! 😱 It feels like I only just gave birth to her! 🙈 I’ve decided to start introducing solids mixed with breastmilk. I’m just deciding on what food to give her first. Any suggestions? 🍌🥑 Banana or avocado maybe? 😃 . 👶🏼 @babymiaelise . .
🤗 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and carers out there! You’re doing a brilliant job even if at times it doesn’t feel that way. We try the best we can and some days we do better than others and that’s OK! 😉 Becoming a mum to @babymiaelise has been the highlight of my life, I absolutely LOVE being a mummy and I’m so grateful to be able to be one. 💗 If you have the opportunity to tell/show your mum you love her then do so because life’s too short. We may not post many “lovey dovey” pics of us kissing and posing together but that didn’t mean we’re not completely head over heels for each other! We bicker a LOT and p*ss each other off all the time, but we spend much more time laughing and enjoying each other’s company! This man is my soulmate - my best friend who I’m in love with and now have an amazing daughter with! 😍🙌🏼 I’ve never been one to have a #couplegoal - or anything goal for that matter but I have to admit Dec’s and my relationship is one I could only dream of many years ago.
