On Friday, the US announced a tariff on up to $50 billion Chinese goods, and China retaliated with tariffs of their own on $34 billion US goods. Trump then requested the US to identify $200 billion more goods to tax, prompting China's Commerce Ministry to announce that it would take counter-measures against any US actions. Canada is set to approve sweeping cannabis legislation this summer, setting the stage for sales to boom. These regulations would allow people 18 and over to buy marijuana, and let people grow small amounts at home. Recreational marijuana sales in Canada could be worth $3.3 billion by 2027, in part because businesses will find it easier to work nationally, and after decades of prohibition, the government is ready to treat cannabis and its users differently.
