Family tower (although my youngest looks creepily possessed staring at Pontipines in their beds)
Because sometimes you have to remind yourself of how things could feel, rather than assuming how they might feel. It’s a classic coaching tool - a combo of using your imagination, being wild in your positivity and state it in the present tense so that you feel it and own it. I need to set a reminder to do this every day - I’m sure it’d change how I approach my work!
Sometimes we get stuck in our head and we need to get an issue on the table, talk it out and get input and ideas from some experienced, credible and generally awesome ladies. Well that’s what we do at our monthly power sessions. Get clear, focussed and inspired. And because you’re discussing real issues that matter to you, you get to know the people in the room really well. Genuine connections form quickly and solidly. No selling, no agendas, no pitching, no ‘professional face.’ Just you being you. If you can, come join us in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Not too far from Hemel Hempstead, 30 mins from Euston by train.
International Women’s Day. What would you make a stand for? I make a stand for women not compromising on their career after kids. For mums to honour their steely ambition, their talents and to put this out into the world. Rediscover what you stand for with £10 off my new Setting Your Path To Success course. Hurry - offer only valid until midnight on Sunday. Link in bio
And this is what we coaches do - find the greatness within you. The genius, the magic, the gold. Because it’s within you - we’re just finding it and lighting it up, setting it on fire so it burns brightly and the path forward unfolds. Coaching isn’t magic but the results are magical.
You are the most important asset of your business! How much love, investment and attention do you give your own performance and well-being? All too often it gets squeezed out as we work late to get our new sales page up, and we miss out lunchtime run to fit in a client who had to reschedule. But without us, our businesses wouldn’t function. Imagine what your workday would be like if we felt calm, nurtured, nourished, rested and resourceful. What decisions would you make differently? How would you approach big challenges? Tomorrow I discuss self-care with @suzyreading - what is it and why is it important to our business? And how on earth do we fit it in?!!
Extra protein needed this morning. Bugs making their way around the house so interrupted nights and lots of calpol dosages. Definitely need an extra bit of oomph for today! Weirdly, my 4 year old seems extra polite and articulate when he’s under the weather - doesn’t have the energy to object to my requests! TV under the blanket day ahead. Shame as we had hoped to see relatives and do birthday parties but he’s so rarely ill. Pixar megathon it is! 📺
If you don't enjoy networking, this is the meeting for you. We don't do lockouts, timed introductions, obligatory passing of business cards, nor selling to each other. We don't sit quietly whilst listening to others, we don't ask people for referrals. We do ask you to turn up as a real human. We do discuss business issues important to you and your business. We do support each other. We do encourage each other to succeed. We do provide a place to be genuine and honest about what it takes to run a business and a family. We do want you to contribute your experience, war stories, inspiration and high fives. So come along, even if there's jammy fingerprints on your jumper and you forgot to brush your hair. Kids welcome and free toast available! Now what's not to love?! Held in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. Link to tix in bio.
This is where I snuck off to for half term - this is the view from my Dad’s living room window. We were so lucky with the weather and every sunrise was beautiful. It was just the break we needed. I slept so well and felt recharged - so important as all too often business/ family life/ “rest” time all blurs into one and we don’t ever feel truly relaxed. Did you get a chance to relax over half term?
Both children in bed asleep by 6.35pm. 👊🏻 Boom! Cup of tea, orange club biscuit (the oldies are the goodies) and about to settle into life admin for an hour or two before packing the suitcase for our half term jaunt to snowy Scotland. I want a clear desk and a clear head before I board that plane!
Bye bye 30’s, hello 40’s. On day one and so far so good. My aunt said in her card “It’s a great age to be as by now you have worked out what works for you.” Yes, so much more since turning 30, although it’s always a work in progress! I wonder what life will be like when I’m turning 50?!
