Fantastica realizzazione di @rami_astro . . @rami_astro with @get_repost ・・・ A lunar tour of yesterday’s Moon with 3 major craters, 2 popular mountains, Lunar X, and Lunar V. This is an image animated in after effects. Image acquisition: This is a panorama of 3 images. Each image is a stacked portion of the crescent Moon. The stack is from 33 images. The images were imported to lightroom first. All images had chromatic aberration removed. Each 33 images were then opened as layers in photoshop. Then in PS, the stacking was done using the following method: Autoalign images —> Convert to smart object —> Smart object —> Stack mode —> Mean —> Flatten image —> saved as TIFF. 3 TIFF were obtained, then were merged as a panorama with transparency fill and distortion correction in PS. I also increased the exposure and sharpness. Gear: canon  camera body with a Meade refractor 130 mm 6000 series and a 2x Meade instruments barlow lens.  EXIF: ISO 100 / 1/60s / f/14.0 / 1820mm Music:

Milky Way composite from Bintan island, Indonesia. There was a bit of light pollution from the beach resorts nearby. It was a cloudy night, but managed to shoot the Milky Way when the clouds cleared up partly. At the bottom is Mars and on top right is Jupiter. Saturn is seen, at the centre of the frame, near the Galactic Centre of Milky Way. :) Nikon D700 | Nikkor Fisheye 16mm f2.8D lens | ISO 3200 | 20sec exposure | Nikkor 35mm f2 lens for the foreground | 10sec | Lightroom & Photoshop . . . #TheNakedSingularity

to The Galactic Core . . I did a tracked shot of the galactic core thanks to @astro_mom for her generous effort to take us to the quiet beachfront adjoining the Jones Beach. It was amazing to hang out with her not just to do some night sky imaging but to talk about our universe & appreciate the beauty of the cosmos. Also I learnt a new asterism which is called the coat hanger, haha. . . I was really surprised to see the Milky Way still visible from an urban night sky that’s around Class 7 on the Bortle scale. The yellowish tone you see at the bottom comes from the light dome of the New York City/ South Jersey. This is a 5 image stack of the tracked shot that was aligned and stacked in Nebulosity 4, which was later edited in Photoshop CC to bring out the details and contrast. Why does he image look hazy you ask? That’s because of the dense fog over the ocean and the transparency was not that good. However I tired my best to pull the details without making the image look artificial & over-processed. . . Thanks for having us Nancy! 📷: 06/16/18 . .         . . . #thenakedsingularity

Regrann from @astro.gordonfreeman - Happy Solstice! . . Today marks the day of the planet 🌎 in its orbit around the sun when the daytime will be the longest and with the sun reaching the highest point in the sky along the ecliptic (the path traced by sun across the sky). Coincidentally there’s a huge giant sunspot growing on the face of the sun that’s staring at us & growing by day. So if you didn’t know it yet, now you know! Go try capturing the sunset today and you should be able to capture the setting sun with sunspots! . . About this image: it’s an 5 image HDR to preserve the disc of setting sun while showing vibrancy in the sky. This image was taken on 06/14 exactly a week ago, so not a solstice sun in any way but in the spirits of celebrating our closest star, this is for you! 📷: 06/14/18 . . . . . #thenakedsingularity

I cannot wait to see these skies again!! Just less than 2 months now. My friends @mario_rubio and @j.martinezmoran with their incredible images from Tenerife and La Palma don’t make this long wait any easier 😃. So I decided to go back to my images from last March from the @iac_astrofisica Teide observatory, stack some of the ones used for the timelapse and the startrails posted here previously and create a still of the Milky Way rising over Tenerife and Gran Canaria. That’s the good thing about taking a timelapse at night, you get a 3 in 1 from a single session. That light pollution, though!!! I hope you like it! @canonespana 80D camera and @samyanglensglobal 14mm lens f2.8 ISO 6400 . . . . #thenakedsingularity
