Is it even a thing to clean n jerk before you snatch??? But anyways here is me trying to get quick! 3 rep high hang snatch and then did 2 hang clean pulls plus a hang clean with a 3 sec lower. Sorry its a little bit late. So as you all know today I trained back and biceps. ๐Ÿ”น I like to whack in these two variations of pulldowns and I just thought I'd highlight the differences between a wide grip and a close grip. ๐Ÿ”น The wide grip focuses mainly on the outer latissimus dorsi and reduces the resistance on the biceps and forearms. Typically the wider something is the harder it is therefore you will have to decrease the weight slightly that what you would do with a regular grip. I did 4 sets of 8 reps of these at 40kg. ๐Ÿ”น The close grip works mainly the lats as well but it puts a much bigger emphasis on the biceps. You will also have to use your forearms a lot more to grip onto the v-bar. You will find you'll be able to go much heavier on these. I do 4 sets of 6 at 55kg. ๐Ÿ”น I'm currently working on building strength so I can build a little muscle so I'm doing low reps but heavy weight. When you do these try and get the full stretch and keep it slow and controlled to eliminate momentum and reduced the risk of injury. Eliminating momentum forces you to engage the muscles and use them more, keep you're body still and you'll get stronger everytime. ๐Ÿ”น #strongerthanyesterday

A lot of people focus on the scale but to be honest my scale has only ever changed within the same 10 lbs since I started crossfit. Needless to say I stop focusing on the scale and started only focusing on inches, strength, endurance and what I see in the mirror and Iโ€™m loving every moment of this journey! #strongerthanyesterday P.S. After looking through some video clips of my leg workout yesterday, I was left feeling a bit ๐Ÿ˜ .. itโ€™s something Iโ€™ve always struggled with. Being in front of the camera. Whether photo or video. Iโ€™ve always quickly been drawn to the imperfections or things that need work rather than the main reason why the photo was taken or video was recorded to begin with. When I saw myself yesterday on those video clips, the negativity started to flood my mind. Things like ... โ€œoh man, my mid section is still huge!โ€ or โ€œyou can still see my double chin!โ€ or โ€œDamn, I guess I was just expecting .. moreโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ž . But you know what? Whatever. Fuck it. The negativity will not control me like it always did. What I need to focus on is the fact that while YES I still have goals to reach, inches I want to lose and muscle I want to grow, I was doing work that I couldnโ€™t even touch 7 months ago. Iโ€™m stronger and I need to remind myself that I started this to be mentally stronger as well ๐Ÿง . This morning after dropping Miss P off at school, I decided to get a HIIT workout in. It was hard but I pushed myself. This photo was after only round 2 (5 rounds total). I kept thinking about that damn negativity that flooded my head the night prior. It kept me pushing harder and harder through each round because again, 7 months ago, I would be lucky to make it even halfway through 1 round of this shit. But here I am. Doing it because Iโ€™m stronger than the negativity. We all are. We just have to dig down deep and pull ourselves back to our senses and shove that negative shit back to where it came from and keep it there. . My PSA for today - keep going. No one journey is the same just like no one of us is the same. But one thing is certain, we are all strong in our own right. We are all stronger than we were yesterday and we will be stronger than we are today. Just keep going ๐Ÿ’ช
