Happy from me and Nikita. Less ice = more heat absorbed by the ocean, more heat absorbed by the ocean = less ice, repeat cycle infinitely and things are going to get warmer (this is what is happening). It's very simple to understand and to deny the occurence of this cycle would take a severe lack of intelligence. #SaveOurSeaIce

|| This was the only sea ice our ship encountered during my short trip around western Svalbard last month. The absence of sea ice threatens the Arctic ecosystem because the food chain depends on the algae and other organisms that live on and in the ice. The sea ice is also vital to the polar bears because its a platform for them to hunt for seals. The seal pups are born on the sea ice and are dependent on it until they’ve grown strong enough to fend for themselves in the ocean. But as the ice melts more quickly, the pups are forced into the water before they are ready and can’t survive. I was really disappointed not to see any polar bears but I was also disappointed to see what we’ve done to this planet. We all need to do better. . . . . #saveourseaice #🇳🇴

It’s Arctic Sea Ice Day! What steps are you taking to reduce your carbon footprint? Our wildlife needs your help. Polar Bears depend on sea ice to hunt for seals. No Arctic Sea Ice, no Polar Bears. 😕

Winter or summer, adjusting the thermostat saves energy. Join us in setting your thermostat up or down (depending on the season) by at least two degrees to reduce your energy consumption—and adjust it even more at night and when no one is home. WHY? For each degree a thermostat is adjusted up or down for the season—in a setback period at least eight hours long—a family, school, or business can save 1% of the cost. More important, this action stops wasting energy and reduces greenhouse gas pollution. #saveourseaice @polarbearsinternational
