Sometimes your friend is embarrassingly directionally challenged and drives you to the wrong entrance of the park, thereby making the hike (now a 2-hour drive away) you had so carefully researched and planned now impossible. Sometimes you have to be flexible and pick another hike on the fly to make up for said friend’s erroneous navigational shortfalls. And sometimes that friend is very grateful to have a friend like you. Cheers, @aimlet88 -thanks for your patience with my “navigation” (or lack thereof) and with all of my complaining when bugs fly into my eyes (so every 5 minutes or so). . . . . #obligatorybackpic

During my trip I stopped at 5 different waterfalls. When I pulled up to the parking lot for this fall the lot was empty, while the other falls had all been full and very busy (like either get there really early or stalk someone in your car super awkwardly while they walk back slowly through the parking lot to their spot). This was definitely my favorite fall I visited this trip, and in my opinion had the best view of the falls from the vantage point. And of course it merited an #obligatorybackpic. Because everyone looks better from behind, even in Canada. 🇨🇦 . . . . .

Just finished my first solo trip ever- which also included my first time alone abroad and camping alone. I’ve done a lot of solo things since moving to Seattle. I’ve walked city streets, explored parks, and hiked new unfamiliar trails on my own. I’ve lived by myself for the first time (yuck). I moved to Seattle without knowing anyone. And while my life has settled a bit and I’ve made some amazing friends here, I can’t help but feel something or someone important is missing. So here’s to hoping. Hoping one day I’ll have someone to always go hiking with. Someone to share a tent with. Someone to take back pics with. Someone to come home to. Someone to experience all the ups and downs with. Who I can share my life with and not feel so...alone. . . . #obligatorybackpic #obligatorybackpic

I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed my Utah mountains until I did an alpine hike today and came upon these craggy beauties. I am so in love with mountains and have missed living at the foot of such gorgeous giants-waking up to the sun cresting over them, pretending to use them for directions (yeah, I know they’re in the west, but they’re also ALL around!), hiking up to my mount Olympus lookout spot after work to catch the sunset behind them, and being amazed and stunned at how beautiful they are. They truly became “my” mountains by the time my stint in Salt Lake came to a close. Washington is surrounded by a forest of trees on all sides and you have to travel a ways to get out into the mountains, so today made it as possibly my favorite hike day I’ve had in Washington-a long drive through winding alpine roads in a red hot little convertible, a steady steep hike through gorgeous white snow, and the reward of some stunning mountains that reminded me so much of the ones I left behind in salt lake. I am so glad I live in a world where we have mountains - they are my happy place. . . . . #obligatorybackpic
