I am so glad we’re all getting hyped over The Handmaid’s Tale again. I just blew through it and I don’t how I never picked it up before. Atwood’s sentences are tangible. “This is what I feel like: this sound of glass. I feel like the word shatter.” What can I read next that won’t pale in comparison? #margaretatwood

Now the flesh arranges itself differently. I’m a cloud, congealed a central object, the shape of a pear, which is hard and more real than I am and glows red within its translucent wrapping. Inside it is a space, huge as the sky at night and dark and curved like that, though black-red rather than black. Pinpoints of light swell, sparkle, burst and shrivel within it, countless as stars. Every month there is a moon, gigantic, round, heavy, anomen. It transits, pauses, out of sight, and I see despair coming towards me like famine. To feel that empty, again, again. I listen to my heart, wave upon wave, salty and red, continuing on and on, marking time. “The Handmaid’s Tale - Margaret Atwood” #margaretatwood

”Nothing changes instantaneously: in a gradually heating bathtub you'd be boiled to death before you knew it.” 😫 Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale 📚 I honestly don’t remember appreciating the read that much back at uni, but the bloodcurdling tv series seems to put everything I care about into horrendous hazard. “Better never means better for everyone... It always means worse, for some.” 😳 #margaretatwood

》 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Livro: “Vulgo Grace” | Autor: Margaret Atwood | Editora: Rocco | Páginas: 504 | Nota: 5/5+♥️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Envolvente. Cativante. Per-tur-ba-dor. 🙌
