Pulling up into the car park at school & I see these 4 gorgeous children walking towards me and all I could do was smile . . They are all mine . . We’ve have/had learning difficulties, type 1 diabetes, anxiety, food intolerances & fussiness . . So much of that has ceased and is far more controllable because of our diet/lifestyle. has changed so much for us and all for the better. People say that it is so much more expensive but we as a family of 6 maybe spend $30 more a week compared to before we ate this way . . My kids have had a day or 2 with sniffles this year but no one has been sick, even our beautiful diabetic whose more susceptibility to illness having an autoimmune disease . . Your greatest investment is your health - mentally, physically & emotionally . . forlife

Find your Passion and Follow it. There is hardship but if you stand tall and keep reminding yourself that, “No matter how bad it gets I am going to make it” and keep faith in yourself, you will achieve whatever you want. Taking a risk is never easy, it is very hard but it’s worth it. 1.5 years back I had a situation, where the one very responsible part of me wanted to continue my IT job for the sake of living comfortably and the other rebellious part wanted to take risks and follow my passion. I was scared but I had to face my fears. My fear of not having a job was outweighing my idea of following my passion. Then finally I realized, it was not the fear of not having a job but spending time in an uncomfortable zone, that was scaring me. Then I convinced myself that even though I’ll have to spend some time without luxury/monthly salary but eventually I will work for myself….I will be my own Boss….I will do something which makes me happy and satisfied. After 1.5 years, here I am. The power of intention is really amazing, I wanted to work for People and now I am trying my best to contribute my services to the betterment of People’s Health. I am proud of my decisions and very sure that I will achieve the goal that I have set for myself. #ketoforlife

MAKING THE SWITCH TO LOW CARB - PART 2. . Note: this is general advice only. . So you’ve worked out your reason(s) why you want to make the switch to low carb, and you’ve started practicing mindful eating (see yesterday’s post). Where to next? . There are many ways to get started, and I encourage you to read widely to work out what might work best for you. The two most common ones I use is with my clients is: . 1. Focus on that first meal 2. Remove the biggest offenders . There are many factors that would come in to play to determine which one I would recommend. Usually it comes down to how much change has to be made, and other important lifestyle factors. . Focusing on the first meal of the day is important. What you eat will set your body up to be predominantly fuelled by either sugar or fat. Start with a high carb meal and you’re off on that roller coaster of needing to eat every 2-3 hours as your blood sugar drops. Start with a good protein, high fat meal, and you’ve got a great chance at keeping your blood sugar and subsequent insulin response low. You’re telling your body to start burning fat for fuel. (It obviously doesn’t happen with one meal. But it’s a great place to start). . Removing the biggest offenders can often work well too. On a LCHF lifestyle, we remove sugar, wheat, grain, processed foods & vegetable oils. These cause the biggest problems for our blood sugar & insulin (& health). For me personally, my journey began 7-8 years ago by removing sugar. But that was also because then I didn’t really understand the metabolic difference between sugar and carbs. So even though I would recommend not taking 7 years to drop them all, it still can be an effective way to start. . The biggest offenders are usually: added sugar, soft drink, fruit juice, confectionary, packaged foods, bread, pasta & rice. Cutting down - and eventually out - these things bit by bit can be a great strategy - especially if you’ve still got health - thus time - on your side. . Don’t be in a rush to jump on the band wagon. Research, read, seek professional advice, and make a plan to make it work for you. Slow change usually means sustained change.

You know you’re a mom doing keto when you use your daughters unicorn sippy cup to take your almond milk and MCT oil to work for your morning coffee! 😂🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m trying hard to get back into my morning keto routine now that I’ve adjusted a bit better to my work schedule. I can tell I’ve slacked off a bit. Hoping that be reestablishing those routines, I can break through this stall once and for all. My daughter and I at my starting Keto weight. I really despise this picture of myself but I want to be able to look back and see my accomplishments. Will take a new photo at my keto 2 month anniversary. Plan to do a photo every 2 to 3 months for comparison. I started keto 5 weeks ago. :) I have only weighed in twice in 5 weeks. Next week I will weigh-in at the doctor. I don't want to obsess over numbers so I do not have a scale! forlife

It's the week before the long Adha Holidays 🐑 and work deadlines are killers. I don't even have the energy to prep or even plan our meals. This quick keto lunch idea is a way out on a down day. I simply used Tuna, steamed broccoli and green beans, boiled eggs and honemade sauce (lemon, mayo, mustard, olive oil, salt , black pepper). AND THAT WAS IT! 🐟🥚 . عطلة عيد الإضحى 🐑 طويلة وصارت عالأبواب بس تسليم الشغل لازم كلو يتم قبل العطلة وصراحة ما عندي طاقة فكرية لتحضير الاكل وقرر عالمنيو للأسبوع، من هيك عم بعمل اكل سريع بس عم يطلع كتير طيب وبشبع. هيدي اكلة سريعة التحضير ومن الموجود، حطيت تونا وسلقت بروكولي ولوبيا وبيض وسكبت فوقهن صوص مكنوة من حامض ومايونيز ومسترد وملح وبهار اسود ويا ماما شو طيبة وبتشبع. شبعت دغري! وبس!🐟🥚 . . #ketoforlife

*Carnivore ZC Keto* Day 1: Being that I’m a curious creature and needing to try things for myself before believing or dismissing anecdotal evidence I’ve decided to try eating 100% Carnivore Keto (0carb) for 30 days and see how I feel. Animal protein and fat sources, mineral rich salt, coffee, water (and occasionally whisky 😉) I feel pretty darn fantastic as is right now so I’m not really sure what I’m expecting but I’ll be documenting my progress here. I’m not doing this for weight loss but I did take my weight this morning out of curiosity and baseline. I weighed 122lbs and I’m 5foot tall as of 8/13/2018 (I already made a little mistake forgetting I can’t have mustard on my burger patty but I’ll be better tomorrow lol) I always do and will continue to eat responsibly sourced animal products. Anyone with long term experience who has advice is welcome to comment. Cheers to the next 30 days. forlife
