Didn’t feel like going back to the gym for round 2, so a little treadmill and jump roping, just to hit a quick 500 cal burn.. . . . #jumprope

📑 Tip to learning any #jumprope trick faster - 📈 Today, Adam went from never seriously jumping rope to achieving his first ever double unders, crosses, boxer skip and side swing - What was the trick we used to get him to go from 0 to 1 in less then 30 minutes? - 🐒 The first time Adam tried to the boxer step, he looked up at me with a smile on his face and told me "my mind is confused". Sounds familiar? - 💡 That's when I understood that I had to change something in the way I was communicating the tricks. And came up with a new concept of learning tricks that WORKS - THE CONCEPT: 🔧 I had Adam isolate each motion he was doing, that when combined would make the entire trick. I got him to only focus on swinging the left foot and only the left foot. Complete isolation. Once he was comfortable with that, I got him to do it with the right foot. - 🔄 I then got him to add the two together. The result? A much less confused mind. His mind understood how each leg should move, now it only had to sync the entire motion to the timing of the jumps. - 📈 We went from randomly trying to get Adam to learn the boxer step to actually stopping, and getting his brain to understand how each part of his body should independently move to then make the trick. - EXAMPLES: If you are learning the side swing: STOP and think; understand how each individual hand should move. Get used to that motion. And then sync them together. . The double unders: Get your jumps right, understand how and where your hands should move. . The release: Understand how the throwing hand is turning, what the catching hand should be doing independently, and then sync the whole thing together. . The concept can be applied to all tricks and athletes at every level, beginner to advanced. - CONCLUSION: Stop randomly trying to make tricks work, and actually break it down and study each isolated motion by itself. I know that this concept works. So use it and save yourself time and frustration.

Never underestimate the power of a jump rope. Jump roping is great for SO many reasons. Not only is it fantastic for bone health, it’s a great workout. Cardiovascular benefits aside, add some jump roping to your shoulder routine and get ready to feel the 🔥. Additionally, it’s a piece of equipment that can be taken anywhere. Going on a business trip? Stick a jump rope into your suitcase. No money for a gym membership? Go buy a $9 jump rope like this @roguefitness licorice rope and get to work. #jumprope
