When the MGM Grand hotel and casino was built in Las Vegas, it cost around $1 billion - at the time the most expensive hotel in the world. While millions of dollars are transacted weekly inside, homeless sleep on the sidewalk outside. Two worlds, with literally a beautiful, thick- glassed door in between. #inequality

In , ‘township’ refers to the often-underdeveloped urban areas that, from the late 19th century, until the end of , were reserved for non-whites, namely Indians, Africans and Coloureds. In the course of the inter World War years the regulations of the 1902 Location Act were expanded to create a more formal structure for African Urban administration. In 1923 the Urban Areas Act was passed to enforce the compulsory residence of in locations. Following the removal of from location, near Maitland, in the late 1920s, the authorities established outside . Although the name Langa means Sun, the name is actually derived from the name of the chief , who was imprisoned on in 1873 for rebelling against the (British colony) government. Our tour guide was born and raised in Langa and is dedicating himself to various projects to help his community. When going through the township, you could see the love he has for his community, you can also see the respect his community has for him. This amazing tour, where we learnt of the past present and future of the area, the great progress that is being made and we got to check out various developments that will provide education, music, money and jobs for the area. #Inequality

Yesterday I needed to head down to the shops and pick up a few things and since the weather was nice out I decided to wear shorts. This was not a decision I made lightly. I weighed my options and decided to not let the immature actions of "grown" men dictate my outfit choices. I walked less than 200 metres before two men in a parked truck began hooting at me continuously and I decided to turn back and change. Today two different men looked me up and down and told me to inform my boyfriend that they hate him, before walking away and talking about me loud enough so that I could hear. And many a time before this I have been asked to smile, told that I was rude for not replying to that hello, whistled at and an 'oh so kind' stranger even offered to walk me home. I was told to ignore it and so I did. But if a reaction is all he cared about then why did he continue whistling at me until I was around the corner and he could no longer see me? A simple trip to pick up a carton of milk has become a stressful outfit analysis. Knowing that if I wear long pants I will only be catcalled twice, as opposed to the ten times that I would have to endure if I were to wear shorts. Why should I continuously have to deliberate over what I am wearing to ensure that I don't get harrassed? Should it not be those who are objectifying and disrespecting me that should be expected to control themselves, instead of getting some twisted kick out of the power imbalance? • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • #inequality

And this is no more evident in the barrage of memes, motivational speakers and talks, hashtags about individual goals, ambition, stepping over peeps at all costs with no cost and consequences so prevalent today espousing the ‘me! me !’ culture and unchecked materialism above all else....altruism is dying...social cohesion eroded....knowledge losing ground...wisdom floundering...societies are fragmented...people divided....allowing those with the ‘need for greed’ to accumulate and amass under the guise of philosophical esoteric ‘wise’ memes or should one say ‘me!me!’ ?!? 😎 #inequality

Hello, ladies ☀️💫 lately I've had quite a few experiences with catcalling and it's something that honestly angers me so much! It's so sad that there are so many men who use the power imbalance between us to make women feel small and uncomfortable. I was thinking about it and decided to make an instagram page where I will post pictures of whoever wants to be featured amd each picture will have a caption to describe your personal experience with catcalling. I honestly think that it's so important to get the message out there that street harassment isn't a compliment and it needs to stop. If any of you would like to be involved in this or to know more please just let me know! Thank you so much and enjoy the rest of your day 💕 #inequality
