Watched a lightning storm yesterday. The result? Forest Fire. When I called to report it the lines were jammed! Good luck boys. #destruction #view #storm #clouds #nature #summer #travel #life #explore #lightning #adventure #weather #photooftheday #city #cloudporn #traveling #landscape #wanderlust #landscapes #forestfire #forestfiresmoke #wildfire #wildfires #smoke #okanaganlifestyle #canada #igers #mountains #bleedingsky #sunset
2 years ago today I saw active lava for the very first time. We hiked out to the 61g flow in Kalapana. To say things have changed A LOT since these photos were taken is an understatement. . All of these photos were taken 7/18/2016, 2 years to the day. We were table to go inside HVNP and see the glow of the lava lake (and even some splashes of lava that early morning) at Halema’uma’u. We went thru Thurston Lava Tube and to the end of Chain of Carter’s Road. The park has now been closed about 2 months and the lava lake is gone as the crater collapses nearly daily. Once we left HVNP and town of Volcano, we drove down to the Puna area where we went to Ahalanui, which now no longer exists 😭😭😭 as of 7/11/2018. Then we went by Lava Tree State Park to change for our hike to the surface flows. Lava Tree still exists at this point but access isn’t possible due to the activity in the area. Then we made our way to Kaimu Black Sand Beach before starting our hike in Kalapana to the active surface flows. Today Kalapana is back to basically a ghost town where the select few still live on the lava field. 👉🏼 Swipe to see the video of the 61g flow . Back then my experience with Kilauea and lava was much different than it is today. Pu’u O’o / 61g is done and Fissure 8 is basically the new Pu’u O’o. The lava river isn’t nearly as “friendly” as it was in 2016. I never thought I’d read about anything like this in my lifetime, let alone experience it myself. It’s been hard for me to comprehend and accept that places I’ve visited now no longer exist, but that’s part of life on the Big Island 🖤
The Tower. Page 87, New Earth Tarot Handbook, Kate Silver. Intention: To have the truth revealed by allowing the weakest parts to crumble; to ride the wave of destruction and reconstruction.
The Tower. The heat of the fire is bearing down on us. Pattern can be broken with great shock. Tearing down comes in a flash. It crumbles our very foundations. Here we see the war between truth and falsehoods. The storm is mighty. We see the illusions crumble around us, until we feel we are falling apart. Without the pulling apart no transformation can take place, no healing can happen. When the time comes we have the choice: to awaken or to continue sleeping.
