Sometimes my Saturday nights look like this⬅️, & sometimes they look like this➡️. ▫️ Something a fitness journey can teach you that holds incredible value is the courage to put your needs & your physical/mental health first, even when it means saying no to external pressures. ▫️ No, you shouldn’t avoid social events with food/alcohol and spend every minute of your free time in the gym/kitchen because you’re afraid of losing your physique. Maintaining healthy relationships and having some pleasure & fun in your life are vital when it comes to your MENTAL health, & neglecting them altogether can lead you to a dark & lonely place. AND you can 100% maintain a great social life, eat out and drink alcohol if you want (to a certain extent, of course), and still reach your physique goals. ▫️ On the other not-so-healthy end of the spectrum though, is feeling like you always NEED to go out, to eat what your friends are eating and drink what they’re drinking out of fear of being teased or excluded - even when it means putting your own goals aside or ignoring what you know is best for you. ▫️ Sometimes staying in or going to the gym on a Saturday night, making healthier choices with food or choosing to stay sober comes from a place of love rather than fear – a place of taking care of yourself and putting your mental & physical health first, despite the pressures coming from people around you. Saying “no” can be hard, but the more you practice it, the easier it gets, and the more the people around you get used to it & understand (and if they can't, then they're probably not the type of people you should be keeping around anyways). ▫️ So, when you're deciding whether you want your Saturday night to look like 🏋️‍♀️ or 💃🏻, 🍸 or 🥦, listen for which one is calling you towards self-love, and which is calling you towards fear. And then always choose love. 👌 P.S. The red marks on my stomach are from rolling out my obliques with a softball (you know, normal Saturday night things 🌝😂).

Today's workout was 20/18/16 and so on till 2 of burpees, plate swings and ground to overhead. With little to no rest. Very deceiving workout this was. I was sweating and out of breath 😤😤😤 #cardio
