Alert!! GFY friends - this is the first smoothie I’ve made in two whole months! Every single other meal I’ve ingested has looked more like the next pic 👉😝 🧀🥂 And yet - I’m still feeling happy and on top of my game. Forgiving myself for all the cheese and wine and pastry I’ve consumed has never been so easy because it’s been consumed with so much Joy. And I’ve been walking untold km’s every day which keeps everything in . But never the less, I can feel a juice cleanse coming on soon. In small amounts, stress is beneficial in our lives. The cortisol hormone wakes us up in the morning full of energy and pep in our steps without needing coffee. If you need coffee to artificially wake you that can be a sign that your circadian rhythm is off and that’s an article for another day. The stress response keeps us safe and out of danger because we either fight it or take flight away from the cause of our stress. Except historically, we were in a lot of danger. There were tiger, bears, gladiators around... Death was seemingly just around the corner just from an innocent misstep in a forest or running into an enemy that could behead you. Yup, life was stressful. I know you’re like, “But, Olena! Life is STILL very stressful! I have to work hard, find time to exercise, give my partner or kids enough love and attention, get all my chores and errands done, figure out my purpose…" Agreed. Life is still stressful, but it’s not life-threatening stressful. Yet our bodies AND minds can still react to mundane stress as though we’re experiencing a life-threatening event. This produces a huge stress response to small things, like for example you flinch every time the phone rings because you’re afraid it’s your boss or bad news. Or you feel stressed thinking about people looking at you and seeing your so called ‘imperfect’ skin when you leave the house without makeup…or with makeup. There are many things we choose to stress ourselves out about... Overtime, too much stress leads to chronic stress. Your body produces too much cortisol, which messes with you digestion, causes nutrient deficiencies, causes leaky gut, makes you fat, increases insulin resistance, ruins your skin, ages you, and um…produces MORE cortisol in a vicious cycle. It’s like the phrase ‘the rich get richer’, but in the case of cortisol, the poor get poorer. The more cortisol you produce, the more cortisol you produce…and the more you age your body. So I’m just reminding you to chill out. It’s good for you. Sit with a book, chill by the pool, listen to some music, do some yoga, make love with your partner… And you can always meditate with us LIVE on Instagram...

Just can't get over how amazing banana is in overnight oats! 😱 Thick, creamy, bananary oats, sticky and sweet dates with crunchy, bitter cacao nibs 👌 If you haven't tried this combo then you are seriously missing out 🤷 Just combine oats, your choice of milk (oatmilk is lush) mashed banana, chai spice or mixed spice, chopped dates and cacao nibs and leave in the fridge overnight to work their magic ✨ This healthy, balanced breakfast might as well be an indulgent dessert after a long week. It really is that delicious! No added sugar or syrup, natural sweetness from banana and dates, low fat, high fibre, complex carbs and blooming tasty! I get so fed up of processed supermarket cereal and granola with all the added sugar, why do we need sugar for breakfast? Why do we need it at all? Post gym, swimsuit selfie. I have had some progress and I am trying to get back on track. I have been living a balanced life with my diet. It is nice, I do not have a shredded six pack, but I am feeling good with where I am at. I still get to enjoy going out for dinner without working it off right after or stressing. I also enjoy buttery popcorn with my daughters occasionally and embrace it! #balanceddiet

TGIF!! 🕺🏻👏🏻 Last evening’s dinner will be on repeat this weekend, y’all! 🤤See stories for step-by-step; I had 2 red bell peppers on their way out and needed to be used. Once I saw @thatnutritiouslife ’s RED PEPPER PASTA SAUCE, I knew I had to make it! SO GOOD, plus it’s a blender sauce, which makes it even cooler! 🙌🏻😎 See what I did below, and see Aldara’s { @thatnutritiouslife } recipe on her most recent post. 💕 ---------------------------------------------------- RED PEPPER PASTA SAUCE: 👇🏻 1️⃣Roast 2 red peppers: wash and slice into large pieces, removing the stems and seeds; spray with @chosenfoods avocado spray, roast on 400 for 15 mins. until slightly charred. 2️⃣In a high-speed blender { I use a } blend together the following: 👇🏻 ➖roasted red peppers ➖3/4 cup canned coconut milk ➖1 tbsp olive oil ➖1 tbsp nutritional yeast ➖1 tsp. garlic powder {clove of garlic would be better} ➖1/2 tsp paprika or sweet paprika ➖1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes or hit of sriracha ➖1/2 tsp dried basil ➖Pink salt and pepper to taste ➖I added: 1 tsp. lemon juice & 1 tsp. coconut sugar or sweeter of choice *optional* {I added this to balance out the heavy-pour I had of the paprika} 🤷🏻‍♀️ ---------------------------------------------------- Add this to your favorite pasta!! I used fiber-packed @traderjoes 1 ingredient BLACK BEAN PASTA and served with a side of sautéed spinach and 🥑 { not pictured}. • • • #balanceddiet
