M64, the Black Eye Galaxy! So far I've only collected the luminance frames, but I'll get the color filter images on my next trip out. M64 is interesting for two main reasons: 1) it has a very dark disk of light-absorbing dust around its core, and 2) it is made up of two counter-rotating disks. It lies about 17 million lightyears behind the Coma Berenices constellation, which is particularly rich in galaxies. Detalle de la zona más densa de la via lactea con un lente 50mm. Se pueden apreciar varias de las nebulosa y cúmulos de estrellas de la zona asi como las densas nubes de polvo que impiden ver el centro mismo de la galaxia. Un dato curioso de esta foto es que cubre un campo muy grande del cielo: 40 lunas llenas cabrían de un lado al otro de este campo. ¿Por que la gente no ve todo esto cuando mira el cielo? La principal razón es que el brillos de la vía láctea es relativamente débil y nuestros cielos en las ciudades están demasiados contaminados con luz artificial. Hoy en día para captar detalles de la vía láctea a simple vista debemos alejarnos bastante de las luces de las ciudades. Realizada desde Los Tumbaos, provincia Peravia. #astrophotography
